Data visualisations and the tools to create them are a way to turn multiple sets of complex data into simple, meaningful and often beautiful visualisations. Australian Newspapers API This is an unnofficial, experimental API to the Trove Australian Newspapers database created by Tim Sherratt. You can access the API at Wragge Labs
Digital New Zealand API This is an API to assist developers working with metadata available through DigitalNZ. The metatdata comes from content providers across the New Zealand cultural and heritage, broadcasting, education, and government sectors; as well as local community sources and individuals. Applications
In their honour is a mashup dedicated to the service men and women who fought and died for Australia. Over 100,000 service records have been indexed and linked to their burial location in one of over 3000 War Cemeteries in Europe and around the world.
Digital NZ location search. A large dataset of NZ digital content made searchable using a map interface rather than a search box.
NZ Walks Information. This application allows the user to browse and search for walking tracks in New Zealand and get information on where a track is (including the exact path), how long it is and what the elevation profile looks like.
Then and Now takes geocoded historical images from the Powerhouse Museum and the State Library of New South Wales and combines them with Google street view to give a modern day then and now comparison.
